Hi, I’m J. Joseph Gillick.
I’m a writer, teacher and professional over-thinker based in London. I write stories that explore what it means to be young, queer, awkward, and human.
Are You Calvin Small? is my debut novel – an LGBTQ+ coming-of-age romance filled with sarcasm, softness, and the occasional slug metaphor.
My next ventures are in the middle-grade space, something I’m very excited about.
When I’m not writing, I’m usually recommending books to my students, scribbling poetry in the margins of lesson plans, or hunting down new stationery I don’t need.
